COLLOCATIONS –USED TO TALK ABOUT TIME
spend time – időt eltölteni I spent some time with her last week. – Múlt héten eltöltöttem vele egy kis időt.
waste time – elpazarolja az időt Don’t waste your time with him! You can do it alone! – Ne pazarold vele az időd! Meg tudod csinálni egyedül is!
save time – időt spórol If you want to save time, go to the other direction! – Ha időt akarsz spórolni, menj a másik irányba.
tell someone the time – megmondja valakinek az időt (hány óra van) Can you tell me the time? – Meg tudod mondani, hogy mennyi az idő?
free/spare time – szabadidő What do you do in your spare time? – Mit szoktál csinálni a szabadidődben?
have time to – van ideje valamire I’m sorry, I didn’t have time to do my homework. – Sajnálom, de nem volt időm megcsinálni a házimat.
make time for – időt szakít valamire The manager is very busy, but I’m sure he’ll make time for you. – Nagyon elfoglalt az igazgató, de biztos vagyok benne, hogy időt fog szakítani Önre.
kill time – elüti az időt
I bought some magazines to kill (some) time at the airport. – Vettem néhány magazint, hogy elüssem az időt a reptéren.
take your time – kihasználja az idejét
No need to rush! Take your time! – Nincs szükség rohanni! Használd ki az időd!
