Christmas is coming, and Doris is at the shopping mall, looking for presents for her family. When she was a child she used to prepare small gifts for everyone. Last year she bought everything online, but this year she decided to do the Christmas shopping at the nearby mall. She wants to pick up some Christmas treats, too so now she is at a sweet shop to buy some Christmas cookies and chocolate truffles. At the shop she accidentally meets one of her old friends Alan.
| Doris: Alan, is that you? Alan: Doris! Long time no see! What a pleasant surprise! How are you? Doris: I’m fine, thanks. And you? Alan: Me, too. I’m doing some Christmas shopping. Doris: So am I. Actually I want to buy some cookies here. Alan: So do I. These cookies and cakes are fantastic. Fresh, crispy, creamy, my family loves them not only at Christmas. Doris: So you spend the holiday with your family, don’t you? Alan: Yes, I have two children, Arthur who is 3 and Rudy who is only one years old. What about you? Do you have children, too? Doris: No, not yet. I’m still looking for Mr Right. Alan: Who are you going to spend the holidays? Doris: We usually spend Christmas Eve at my grandparents’ house, but this year they feel too tired to cook for everyone, so my mother is going to prepare everything for Christmas. Alan: Doris, I have to go now, as my children are waiting for me in the car with my wife, Michelle. It was very nice to see you again! Doris: It was a pleasant surprise! Marry Christmas to you and your family! Alan: Merry Christmas to you, too! |
