FIT VAGY SUIT?

A ‘fit’ és a ‘suit’ igéknek nagyon hasonló a jelentése, ezért könnyű összekeverni őket. Ne tedd! A ‘to fit’ azt  jelenti, hogy valaminek jó a mérete/formája (pl. ruha, cipő), tehát se nem túl nagy, se nem túl kicsi.

Például:

These trousers don’t fit me, I have to change them. They are too small for me. –  Ennek a nadrágnak nem jó a mérete. Ki kell cserélnem. Túl kicsi nekem.

What does it feel like to be old?  

The other day, a young person asked me: – What does it feel like to be old?

I was very surprised by the question since I did not think of myself as old. When he saw my reaction, he was immediately embarrassed, but I explained that it was an interesting question. And after reflection, I concluded that getting old is a gift.

Sometimes I am surprised at the person who lives in my mirror. But I don’t worry about those things for long. I wouldn’t trade everything I have for fewer grey hairs and a flat stomach. I’m not angry at myself for not making the bed, or for eating a few extra “little things.” I am within my rights to be a little messy, to be extravagant, and to spend hours staring at my flowers.

I have seen some dear friends leave this world before they had enjoyed the freedom that comes with growing old. Who cares if I sometimes choose to read a good book until 4 in the morning and then sleep until who knows what time? I will dance with me to the rhythm of the ’50s and ’60s. And if later I want to cry for some lost love…I will!

I’ll walk down the beach in a swimsuit that stretches over my plump body and dive into the waves letting myself go, despite the pitying looks of the bikini-wearers. They’ll get old too, if they’re lucky…

It is true that through the years my heart has ached for the loss of a loved one, for the pain of a child, or for seeing a pet die. But it is suffering that can give us strength and makes us grow. An unbroken heart is sterile and will never know the happiness of being imperfect.

I am proud to have lived long enough for my hair to turn grey and to keep the smile of my youth before the deep furrows appeared on my face. Now, to answer the question honestly, I can say: – The main reason I like being old is because old age makes me wiser and freer!

A schoolgirl purchased her first house at just eight years old after she and her siblings lumped together the pocket money they had saved up. Ruby McLellan has earned the title of ‘Australia’s youngest homeowner’ by investing money she made doing chores for her parents.

It’s a funny picture of a boy with two pet animals. One is sitting on his head and the other is in front of him. I don’t really know what kind of animals they are. They are grey and furry. They look like a mouse but they are bigger. They may be guinea pigs or ferrets but I’m not sure. The boy is cute and blonde and he is smiling happily. Keeping a pet is a demanding task. You have to feed the animals, keep their living space clean and try to make their living circumstances as natural as possible. When it comes to pets most people choose a dog or a cat. Keeping them is not very complicated. They appreciate your love and care and can show their love easily. They are loyal and grateful animals and they are usually real friends. Some people though choose to keep strange or exotic pets in their homes. It beats me how somebody can keep venomous snakes or spiders at home, but it’s not extraordinary nowadays.

I’ve already mentioned that I’ve never had a pet and I don’t even plan to have one. My children kept nagging me for a cat or a dog when they were younger, but I never gave in. We’ve always been too busy to give proper care to a pet and I think it’s not fair to always leave it alone and not give as much love to it as it would need. My children always said that the pet would be their responsibility but I never believed them that they would keep to their promise. When they are grown-ups they can have their own pets if they still want to.

The fate of a Devon dog is unknown after a seagull swooped down and carried the miniature chihuahua away in its beak, its owner said. Becca Hill, 24, of Paignton, is hoping four-year-old Gizmo will be found alive.

She said: ‘My partner was in the garden putting the washing out at the time and suddenly he saw it swoop down. ‘It carried Gizmo a fair way as we couldn’t see him anymore. I have no idea if he was dropped or where he is now.’

Astonishing Hungarian drone bike is being sold in Dubai

The futuristic flying bike, or Flike, was introduced on the extreme sport expo in Dubai, and its price will most likely be the same as a sports car’s. 

The Hungarian made “flying motorbike”, or Flike, made its debut at the Dubai extreme sport expo in 2015. The Bay Zoltán Nonprofit Ltd. for Applied Research used its own resources to make the “celestial bike” which runs on electricity, and is technically a drone, but can carry people as well. The word “Flike” comes from the words fly and bike. The structure weighs 300 kg, can run for 60 minutes on 100 km/h, while carrying a passenger or goods that weight 100 kg, and can still float 30 metres high.

The most promising market is the United Arab Emirates, and during the three day long extreme sport expo future customers had the Flike experience using a simulator. The invention will most likely cost just as much as a sports car, and besides the United States, and Panama, the wealthy Arabic countries are interested in the flying bike as well.

The bike is manufactured in a way that it’s suitable for hobby and extreme sports, but can also be used for rescue operations, gathering intelligence, can be used in crisis situations such as floods, for border patrol, or for provost duty.
