Windsor Castle Trip

Two riverside Society a new destination for contemporary living in Reading

The publication of the local planning authority’s Supplementary Planning guidance, entitled “Urban Design Concept Statement for the Kenavon Drive Area”, demonstrates both the potential for the area and the real commitment that exists to transform Kenavon Drive into a vibrant new riverside community. Several hundred new flats have been recently completed nearby, and there is considerable potential for further enhancement of the area both to the east and the west, where it is expected that two sites, each of roughly 2.5 acres, will become available. The subsequent increase in dwellings (each up to 300 new homes) will only add to the vibrancy of this emerging area. In essence, the location is a rare example of a town site a short riverside walk from the commercial heart of the town, yet within a waterside setting with river walks and meadows, and a short walk from the open countryside. As Mike Dix, Sales director of the developer company said that the two riverside society is a site of a rare quality and location, lying less than ¾ mile from both reading town centre and mainline station yet benefiting from a waterside setting.
