There are many different kinds of homes that we live in. You can live in a flat, in an apartment, in a bungalow or in a house. But what makes them different?

Flat:

Sometimes living in a flat is a simple way to get on the property ladder when you are thinking about buying a home. Flats are often part of a larger building that has been separated in to smaller living spaces. The kitchen area is sometimes an open area shared with the living room and your flat will also have a bathroom and bedroom.

Apartment:

You may live in an apartment. An apartment is like a flat, but it is often part of a much bigger complex of buildings. Because apartments are often found in tall buildings you will have to use the lift or elevator to get to your home.

Bungalow:

A bungalow is a word given to a house that is on one ground floor level only, a bit like a chalet. A bungalow does not have any stairs, because all of the living area is on one floor. This usually means you will have a kitchen, bathroom, lounge or living room and bedrooms. This kind of home is popular with older people because you don’t have any stairs to climb when you go to bed.

House

A house is a property that is usually built on two or more floors. On the ground floor you will find the kitchen, the lounge and maybe dining room where you eat your meals. Upstairs you will find the bathrooms and bedrooms. In some larger houses you may also have a small toilet downstairs.  Also in a larger house you may find a garage where you can park your car or bike.

New York-born Hungarian singer Viktor Király has beaten Cassandra Robertson, one of the most experienced performers of the competition, in a battle aired by the US talent show The Voice.

His victory means that the 31-year-old Hungarian performer has progressed to the next round of the talent show. “I’m out of my mind, I’m very happy”, he told the tabloid newspaper Blikk.

The two singers performed the song “Nobody Knows It But Me”, originally by the Tony Rich Project, to the standing applause of the superstar-studded jury, comprised of Gwen Stefani, Adam Levigne, Pharell Williams and Blake Shelton. Adam Levine, the Hungarian singer’s master, rejected Pharrell’s call to vote for Cassandra Robertson, securing progess for him to the next round of the ninth season of the talent show, aired on NBC since 21 September. Both singers are in Adam Levine’s category and he had to decide which of the two to send to the live shows.

In a tense decision Adam decided to send Viktor through to the live shows.

In 2008, the Hungarian pop singer, who was born in the United States but has been living in Hungary since 1999, won the fourth series of the Hungarian talent show Megasztár, Later, he participated two times in the Hungarian national selection, A Dal, to the Eurovision Song Contest; in 2012 with his twin brother and sister – fellow singer Linda Király – as The Kiralys (Király Testvérek), performing the song “Untried” – he came 4th that year – and in 2014 as a solo artist, with “Running Out Of Time”.

A show pony, advertised as the world’s smallest, has been kidnapped – and police suspect the Mafia is involved.

Charlie, less than 25 inches tall (approximately 63 cm), was snatched overnight at a horse show in Italy and officers believe thieves could be holding him forransom. They say raiders cut the wire fence surrounding the fairground and made off through a tobacco field at Citta di Castello in Umbria, where a car was waiting to speed them away.

The pint-sized pony was set to be one of the major attractions at the 47th edition of the National Horse Fair, along with his owner, equestrian artist Bartolo Messina. However the performer was forced to alert police when he found Charlie’s stall empty.

A spokesman for the Carabinieri in Citta di Castello said: "Investigations are continuing. We are not excluding any possibilities including that the perpetrators are part of a criminal organisation."

The president of the National Horse Show, Angelo Capecci, called the theft "a shameful act".

He said: "We were victims of a serious crime that offends and humiliates the equine world. The security measures that for years have ensured the safety of the participants and that have always prevented the occurrence of similar incidents were apparently undermined by a shameful act that does not reflect the horse world and its values. We sympathise with Bartolo Messina, a great equestrian artist who loves and lives by his horses, and had trained the victim of this sad episode with extraordinary kindness and ability."
