The Duke of Sussex turned 37 yesterday.

It was Prince Harry 37th birthday yesterday! In typical fashion, members of Harry’s family posted happy birthday messages—and some very sweet photos—on their social media accounts in honour of the prince.

Queen Elizabeth used her official @RoyalFamily Twitter account to say, “Wishing The Duke of Sussex a happy birthday today!” A red balloon emoji added a touch of festivity. Attached were four photos of Harry, including one featuring Meghan Markle.

Prince William and Kate Middleton took to their Twitter, @KensingtonRoyal, with a simple, “Happy Birthday Prince Harry!” They, too, used the royal-approved red balloon emoji.

Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, tweeted, “Wishing The Duke of Sussex a very Happy Birthday today!” on their @ClarenceHouse account. They opted to set themselves apart with a birthday cake emoji. The tweet also shared a precious throwback photo of a young Prince Harry with his father.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle ceased using personal or royal-affiliated social media accounts earlier this year, so the Duke of Sussex has not made any public response to the well wishes.

However, that didn’t stop fans from flooding the replies with their own birthday wishes for Prince Harry. One Twitter user cleverly used a Harry Potter gif for the occasion.

The royal family previously voiced happy birthday messages to Markle when she turned 4o on August 3.

The Sussexes both made headlines earlier yesterday when they were named to Time‘s list of the 100 most influential people.

It’s a boy! Megszületett Harry herceg és Meghan Markle első gyermeke! https://www.5percangol.hu/news_of_the_world/royal-baby-meghan-gives-birth-to-a-boy/ Mon, 06 May 2019 16:48:19 +0000 https://cmsteszt.5percangol.hu/royal-baby-meghan-gives-birth-to-a-boy/ The Duchess of Sussex has given birth to a boy, the Duke of Sussex has announced.

A beaming Prince Harry said they were “absolutely thrilled” and thanked the public for their support.

He said Meghan and the baby were doing “incredibly well”, adding that they were still thinking about names for the infant, who was delivered at 05:26 BST.

Buckingham Palace said the baby weighed 7lbs 3oz (3.2kg), and that the duke was present for the birth.

It added: “The Queen, the Duke of Edinburgh, the Prince of Wales, the Duchess of Cornwall, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Lady Jane Fellowes, Lady Sarah McCorquodale and Earl Spencer have been informed and are delighted with the news.

“The duchess’s mother, Doria Ragland, who is overjoyed by the arrival of her first grandchild, is with their Royal Highnesses at Frogmore Cottage.”

A framed notice of birth has been placed on display on a ceremonial easel on the forecourt of Buckingham Palace, where it will remain until 20:00 on Monday.

The baby boy is seventh in line to the throne, behind the Prince of Wales, the Duke of Cambridge and his children – Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis – and Prince Harry.

He is the Queen’s eighth great-grandchild.

Speaking after the birth, Harry added the child had been “a little overdue” and that he planned to make another announcement in two days’ time “so everyone can see the baby”.

Asked what it was like to be present for the birth, he laughed and said: “I haven’t been at many births. This is definitely my first birth. It was amazing, absolutely incredible, and, as I said, I’m so incredibly proud of my wife.

“As every father and parent will ever say, you know, your baby is absolutely amazing, but this little thing is absolutely to-die-for, so I’m just over the moon.”

He added: “It’s been the most amazing experience I could ever have possibly imagined.

“How any woman does what they do is beyond comprehension.”

The baby is a dual citizen, having automatically acquired US citizenship, via Meghan, at birth.

Speaking to the Sun, Meghan’s father, Thomas Markle, congratulated the new parents and spoke of his pride at the birth.

“I am proud that my new grandson is born into the British royal family and I am sure that he will grow up to serve the crown and the people of Britain with grace, dignity, and honour,” he said from his home in Mexico.

Charles Spencer – brother of Diana, Princess of Wales and uncle to Harry – tweeted his congratulations.

He wrote: “Really very lovely news today – many, many, congratulations!”

So what’s going on with the birth of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s first child?

Buckingham Palace announced some weeks ago that there would be no information given out about the birth, beyond that it was happening.

And so it was that shortly before 14:00 BST on Monday, a brief statement from Buckingham Palace announced that Meghan had gone into labour, followed 40 minutes later by confirmation of the baby’s arrival – a boy, weighing 7lbs 3oz.

That meant the strange British circus of journalists, photographers, royal superfans and bemused passers-by gawking at a hospital door for days on end would not happen.

Responding to the news, Prime Minister Theresa May tweeted: “Congratulations to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex on the arrival of their baby boy. Wishing you all the best at this happy time.”

Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn added: “Congratulations to Meghan and Harry on the birth of their baby. I hope they’re all doing well.”

And Scotland’s First Minister Nicola Sturgeon also offered her congratulations to the couple.

She wrote: “The birth of a baby is a joyful occasion – congratulations to Harry and Meghan.”

Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby, who married the couple in May last year, said: “May God bless the new family with love, health and happiness.”

The Royal Wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle https://www.5percangol.hu/news_of_the_world/the-royal-wedding-of-prince-harry-and-meghan-markle/ Sun, 13 May 2018 13:25:58 +0000 https://cmsteszt.5percangol.hu/the-royal-wedding-of-prince-harry-and-meghan-markle/ The Royal Wedding of Harry and Meghan – Set to be a Remarkable Day

On the 19th May, there will be a royal wedding taking place between Prince Harry and Meghan Markle – former American actress on the TV series Suits. It will be a special occasion for many reasons.

Number one, every royal wedding is avidly watched by most of the British public, fans, and well-wishers worldwide. William and Kate’s wedding in 2011 drew an estimated 23 million viewers and Charles and Diana’s in 1981 was likewise popular.

Number two, they are the golden couple of the hour – although the wedding is not quite as significant as his elder brother William’s in that that William is in direct line to the throne after Charles, and Harry is fifth. But Meghan Markle is breaking many barriers by her marriage – e.g. the psychological walls of the way royalty is seen by the public and how it can modernize itself.

Firstly, Meghan will overtake Kate Middleton as the oldest bride to marry into the ‘family’ at age 36. Secondly, and perhaps more importantly, she is bi-racial which shows how previous prejudices of earlier generations no longer affect royal thinking. She has been warmly welcomed by both the Queen and Prince Philip, who according to royal tradition must legitimize the wedding by their consent before it is permitted to take place.

Fiery Feminist

Some other characteristics of Meghan really make her the remarkable Markle and have caused others to draw comparisons with the late Princess Diana, Harry’s mother. She is a fierce exponent of women’s rights, and first hit the headlines in America aged 11 when she highlighted in a letter to the chief of a major advertising company that its TV ad for washing up gloves was sexist and misled girls into thinking they had to grow up to fit into one female stereotype – the stay-at-home mum. In true firebrand style, her determination led to the re-scripting of the ad and to her own beginnings in the limelight.  So, much like Diana, she has fought for feminist rights.

When she and Harry wed, they will become the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, so being an American she will need to gain British citizenship – this lengthy process was begun, when they became engaged a year ago.

Their actual courtship began when they were mutually introduced by a friend, and then after only two dates, they holidayed together in the Prince’s “second home”- Botswana. This was the place Prince Charles took his two young sons during their grieving period after the death of their mother, and it had great healing benefits for them to be in its wilderness.

The jewel in the Crown

So, after the romantic nights spent alone in the wild under the stars, their relationship was sealed. Moreover, Botswana is not only the place of the recent largest rough diamond ever discovered, but also where Harry chose the stone for Meghan’s engagement ring. It contains two stones from his mother’s collection and one larger diamond from the African country. Back home he proposed to her as they were jointly cooking a roast chicken dinner and she said ‘yes’ immediately. Whoever said the way to a man’s heart wasn’t through his stomach!?

Many royal observers speculate that Botswana will also likely be the couple’s honeymoon destination.

Besotted

It is clear to anyone on the outside how much this couple is in love, there is great chemistry between them. They are well-suited characters as they are both fun-loving and outgoing. Meghan, it is true, has been married before and is divorced, and this in the past may have been a sticking point for entrance onto the royal team. However, some precedent cases have paved the way – such as Prince Edward VIII who abdicated the throne to be allowed to marry another American divorcee, Wallis Simpson. Then Charles and Camilla got married, both having been married before.

So, what will the big day be like?

To kick things off, it will take place on the FA cup final day, 19th May 2018 – a Saturday and not an official bank holiday, unlike most previous royal weddings. Football is nationally important and though Prince William who is President of the Football Association must skip it, football fans are in a better situation. The wedding begins promptly at noon so it will be over by the 5.30 pm kick off time.

It is happening at St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle, where Harry was christened and the venue where Prince Edward wed Sophie, the Countess of Wessex, in June 1999.

Dressing up in Style

There has been much speculation over the wedding dress, swinging from Israeli designer Inbal Dror who submitted modern, elegant designs to the bookies’ favourite British designer Stewart Parvin. It is unlikely though that she matches Diana’s bridal gown of 1981 that had a train trailing 7.62m behind her! Incidentally, white wedding dresses were first introduced into modern fashion after Queen Victoria wore one when she wed Albert in 1840.

Order of events

The Royal family are paying for the necessary parts of the itinerary – church service, associated music, flowers, decorations and reception, all happening on Windsor Castle grounds, although ultimate control is in the couple’s hands. Their wish is to involve the public as much as possible. Therefore, they will be travelling by carriage through Windsor to their reception at St George’s Hall. On-route, members of the public, television cameras and photographers will be able to see the couple up close in their fine wedding attire.

It has been revealed that Meghan will give a speech at the reception, breaking with the tradition of having the bride’s father speak, but it is also likely that the best man will either be William or a childhood friend of Harry’s.

Some of the music at the reception is likely to be the Spice Girls for one after an over-enthusiastic Mel B let slip the news on American television.

Also, to play a major role are the British Army of which Prince Harry was a captain and has taken over Prince Philip as Commander of the Royal Marines.

Bon Appetite

A royal wedding can’t take place without its number one ingredient namely the food! From times past, tradition has dictated that all menus must be written in French. So, any guest not wishing to confuse their foie gras with their canard á l’orange should take note.

Also, the cake is likely to be a thing of beauty if it follows suit to past royal nuptials. Victoria and Albert were the first to place bride and groom figurines on the top. Theirs had two-tiers, was 2.7m wide and weighed 136 kg. Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip’s cake had four tiers and was 2.7m tall. Kate and William’s two cakes cost 60,000 pounds. Harry and Meghan’s cake will be designed by London baker Claire Ptak and have a lemon and elderflower flavour to represent spring’s freshness.

Guess the Guest

The invitations have already been sent out to 600 lucky people. They have American ink printed on English card. In fact, Meghan herself could have designed them because she once had a job as a calligrapher writing wedding invitations in her early days as an actress.

Wowing and Vowing

Lastly, an important reminder of the modernized monarchy is that brides need not promise to ‘love, honour and obey’ their husbands since Diana famously set the precedent when she replaced the word ‘obey’ with ‘comfort’ in her vows. Church tradition no longer forces this point, but in 1981 it was quite a thing and ever since many brides have followed her lead, Meghan is likely to as well.

So, whatever you are up to on the 19th May, make sure you catch a glimpse of the royal wedding – it may be the last for a long time to come.

26 érdekesség Harry herceg menyasszonyáról https://www.5percangol.hu/news_of_the_world/26-fairy-tale-facts-about-meghan-markle/ Fri, 26 Jan 2018 09:31:28 +0000 https://cmsteszt.5percangol.hu/26-fairy-tale-facts-about-meghan-markle/ “I don’t read any press. The people who are close to me anchor me in knowing who I am. The rest is noise.”

Meghan Markle is basically living every girl’s dream right now: she just got engaged to Prince Harry, with their wedding set for spring 2018. But what do we know about her? Some things may surprise you, so keep reading to find out more about this incredible woman!

1. What’s in a Name?

Meghan is actually her middle name. Her first name is Rachel, which, if you watched her on Suits, is her character’s name! That’s a pretty neat coincidence if you ask us.

2. Deal, or No Deal?

Before she joined Suits, Meghan was a briefcase model for just one season in 2006 on the popular show Deal or No Deal. She found her time there to be uncomfortable, as she wore five-inch heels and hoped for someone to call her number so she could sit down.

3. Flower Power

Her mom gave her the nickname “Flower” as a child, and she posts tons of photos on her Instagram of peonies, her favourite flower.

4. Love of the Written Word

If you ever need someone with gorgeous writing, be sure to call her up! When she was struggling to make ends meet before becoming famous, she relied on her calligraphy skills for weddings and events to pay her bills. “I think handwritten notes are a lost art form,” she has said. She even did the invites for Robin Thicke and Paula Patton’s wedding.

5. So Romantic!

Further to her finding handwritten notes to be a lost art form (let’s face it, they kind of are!), Markle says she finds it romantic and beautiful if a man handwrites a letter to a woman. Wonder if this is how Prince Harry snagged her!

6. It Doesn’t Matter if You’re Black or White

Markle has embraced being biracial, stating that she is confident in who she is. She’s incredibly close with her mom, Doria Radlan, too, and ignores the cruel comments that her mom isn’t her biological mother since their skin colors are so different. And don’t even think about airbrushing her photos: it drives her nuts when her freckles are taken away or her skin tone is lightened.

7. Bright Lights Called Her

Markle was shown the entertainment world at an early age; her dad, Thomas W. Markle, was an Emmy Award-winning lighting director for Married…With Children, and he would often take her to set.

8. Mom Knows Best

Markle’s mother Doria has had a great influence on her life. As a yoga instructor, her mom brought her to “mommy and me classes” when she was little. She also made sure her daughter was a “global citizen,” and they travelled to many remote places that opened Markle’s eyes to poverty and the harsh realities and challenges many around the world faced.

9. She’s a Humanitarian

Markle was an ambassador with World Vision Artist Collective, helping children in Rwanda to get an education. She’s also been a counsellor for One Young World, and has worked as an advocate for the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women. “I’ve never wanted to be a lady who lunches,” she’s said. “I’ve always wanted to be a woman who works.” You keep doing what you love, Meghan!

10. This Beauty Has Brains, Too!

Markle completed her Communications degree from Northwestern University. After graduating, she travelled to Buenos Aires, where she worked for the U.S. Embassy. She hasn’t ruled out more schooling, either, saying that she’s considered going for her Masters.

11. And They Called it Puppy Love

When Markle was at an animal shelter checking out dogs, Ellen Degeneres just happened to be there at the same time! Degeneres told Markle she should adopt the Lab/Shepherd mix she was looking at, so she did. Markle has had Bogart ever since, and she also has another dog named Guy. Super cute!

12. Fashionista

Canadian women’s retailer Reitman’s brought Markle on board in 2016. Her collection mixed couture style and her casual vibe. She even starred in commercials for the brand.

13. Never Stop Learning

In the 2005 movie A Lot Like Love, she was taught to drive stick just one hour before filming a scene that required her to do so!

14. No Place Like Home

Markle was a major fixture on the TV show Suits, which films in Toronto, Canada. She lived in the city from 2011 until just this year, and would frequently show off her incredible decorating on her Instagram account with photos of her Toronto home. In the photos, she also showed fans just how large her shoe collection is and her love of books (they’re even color-coordinated!).

15. Second Time’s the Charm

This will be Markle’s second marriage. She married producer Trevor Engelson in 2011; they divorced just two years later. Generally speaking, the Royals don’t marry divorcees, but Prince Harry’s own father, Prince Charles, remarried Camilla Parker Bowles after he divorced Princess Diana (Bowles was also previously married). The Church of England agreed in 2002 that those who are divorced could be allowed to marry again in church.

16. From Royal Court to the Tennis Court

Recently married Serena Williams will very likely be on the guest list for Markle and Prince Harry’s wedding. The two are great friends, and Markle even refers to the tennis star as her confidante. The women met at a charity football match, and Markle even shows up to Williams’ tennis matches when she can.

17. Who Needs Expensive Creams?

She’s just like you and me! Markle says she uses Nivea Q10 Firming Body Lotion all the time. She loves how affordable it is, and how it makes her skin look and feel. Please excuse us while we go buy a bottle (or three).

18. It’s a Blogger’s World

Markle had a lifestyle blog for about three years, with the site closing down earlier this year. On The Tig, she posted recipes, DIY tips, and more. It’s too bad it’s no longer around; she likely would have had great posts once she officially became a Royal.

19. Can We Come to a Dinner Party?

Markle loves cooking! Her go-to dish is a roasted chicken, and she brings it to dinner parties wherever she goes. She calls it a “game changer,” saying that it makes her a lot of friends.

20. Fighting for Equality, Even at an Early Age

She may love to cook, but she doesn’t agree that a woman’s place is in the kitchen. When she was 11, she penned a letter to then-First Lady Hillary Clinton to complain about an ad for soap that claimed women should be in the kitchen; the company later changed the ad.

21. Sweet Moments

That famous roast chicken played a role on the night Prince Harry proposed. He said it was just a typical night for the pair, and while making a dinner of roast chicken, he got down on one knee and popped the question. He barely got the words out before she said yes! She was so caught up in the moment that he asked if he could give her the ring, since he didn’t get that far before she agreed to be his wife.

22. Age Ain’t no Thing

Markle’s actually older than Prince Harry by three years. Though he may be younger, he still protects her—when rumors of their coupling began, he stepped up to protect her from all of the bullying, abuse, and harassment she was suffering at the hands of social media trolls.

23. Sexy Television

Meghan Markle admitted that while filming her first sex scene in Suits, she actually found it a little “weird,” and that shooting the racy romps that fans love was often a little odd. When asked about what scenes were specifically tough to shoot, she said, “Sex in the file room was weird. Yeah, that was a little strange.”

Her co-star, 35-year-old Patrick J. Adams said, “Meghan and I are like brother and sister at this point, so a scene like that is basically just hilarious for us to shoot, but also really fun, because for these characters this is a big moment.”

24. Romance

Markle and Prince Harry haven’t been together that long: about a year and a half. Rumors of their relationship began in October 2016, but the palace didn’t confirm it until closer to the end of that year. All of these rumors ended up making her the most Googled actress of 2016.

Markle met her husband-to-be through a mutual friend, who set them up on a blind date. This date set forth a whirlwind romance, with each falling quickly in love with the other. Markle “just tripped and fell into my life,” the Prince says. *Swoon*

25. All That Glitters

Markle’s engagement ring truly is something special. Prince Harry created the ring himself with help from British jeweler Cleave and Company. One large diamond he got from Botswana flanks two smaller stones from his mother Princess Diana’s personal collection. The Prince loves Africa, and took his future bride to Botswana earlier this year. Maybe he picked up the stone then?

26. True Love Trumps All

Markle will be the first American to marry into the British Royal family since 1937. The Duke of Windsor, the former King Edward VIII, married American socialite Wallis Simpson. He would abdicate the throne when a decree said he could not marry Simpson (also a divorcee) while being King. Luckily for Markle, the Royals aren’t quite as staunch anymore (and Harry isn’t the heir to the throne).

A királynő, Harry herceg és Obamáék vicces csatája a Twitteren :) https://www.5percangol.hu/news_of_the_world/the-queen-and-prince-harry-in-a-hilarious-promotional-video-for-the-invictu/ Sat, 30 Apr 2016 21:07:47 +0000 https://cmsteszt.5percangol.hu/the-queen-and-prince-harry-in-a-hilarious-promotional-video-for-the-invictu/ Michelle and Barack Obama tweeted a short video where they reminded Prince Harry he had told the American athletes to ‘bring it’ to the competition, which was founded by the royal and starts on May 8. In the playful clip, they ridicule the young Prince’s confidence and state: ‘Hey Prince Harry. Remember when you told us to bring it at the Invictus Games? Be careful what you wish for.’

Three officials can then be seen making a ‘mic drop’ hand signal in the background – seen as a symbol of confidence.

The First Lady also wrote on Twitter: ‘Hey, @KensingtonRoyal! Are you ready for @InvictusOrlando? Game on.’

Prince Harry initially replied from the official Kensington Palace account with a tweet, stating: ‘Wow @FLOTUS and @POTUS, some @weareinvictus fighting talk there! You can dish it out, but can you take it? – H.’

But he then appeared to be concerned about the possible threat of competition from the Americans as he added: ‘@FLOTUS @POTUS How on Earth am I going to top that?’

The Prince, however, had a pre-prepared trick up his sleeve – a video with the Queen.

A short clip uploaded around 4pm – less than an hour after the Obamas’ footage was posted – shows the Prince sitting on a sofa with his grandmother while looking at pictures of last year’s Invictus competitors.

They appear to be concerned about an American man looking ‘incredibly fast’ during the sprinting when the Prince’s phone starts playing ‘Hail To The Chief’ – a march associated with the U.S. president.

It signalled a text from Mrs Obama, which contains the video starring the Obamas.

The Prince turns to the Queen and asks: ‘Do you want to watch this together?’ before stating: ‘Let’s have a look.’

While Prince Harry looks concerned, the Queen does not look fazed by the clip and merely states: ‘Oh really? Please.’

The clip ends with the 31-year-old Prince turning to the camera and making his own ‘mic drop’ hand signal, clearly convinced the Britons will return triumphant.

Prince Harry has been the driving force behind the Games, which was first staged in 2014 to great acclaim.

The Prince will be cheering on competitors in the sporting spectacle he said would allow them to serve their country again and ‘go out and kick the a**e out of life’.

The ethos of Invictus is to highlight the incredible effect sport has to inspire and help the recovery of servicemen and women who have been injured whilst serving their country.

The next Invictus games will be held in Orlando, Florida, next month, while the third round of games will take place next year in Toronto, Canada. One US competitor of the games said: ‘Up until my awareness of the Invictus Games, all I had been doing was living in memories. In my mind my life has been over and I was just waiting to be done because I’m not capable of doing or living like I used to. I‘m starting to think however, that my game has just begun.’

A British competitor added: ‘ I knew it’d be special but this has been something else. I can’t sum it up in words. We’ve been humbled by the support everyone has given us. We just want to say thank you to everyone. This has meant so much.’

According to Prince Harry: ‘These Games have shone a spotlight on the “unconquerable” character of service men and women and their families and their “Invictus” spirit.

‘These Games have been about seeing guys sprinting for the finish line and then turning round to clap the last man in. They have been about teammates choosing to cross the line together, not wanting to come second, but not wanting the other guys to either.

‘These Games have shown the very best of the human spirit.’

The video was immediately met with delight from fans of the royals on social media.

One Twitter users, known only as Andrea, wrote: ‘Omygosh this is too much! This Queen wins this one.’

Sally R added: ‘I think Prince Harry just won that round – well done to The Queen for her sense of fun.’

William Wearmouth simply said: ‘Her Majesty the Queen – bossing it since 1952.’

While Sarah Hallahan wrote: ‘Brilliant fun. Round 1 the Queen and Prince Harry I think.’

Prince Harry will travel to the U.S. next week to support the UK team in the Paralympics-style competition, which is for injured, sick or wounded servicemen and women and veterans.

The video is not the first time the Queen has shown her sense of humour.

The monarch famously appeared in a film sequence for the opening ceremony of the London Olympics alongside James Bond actor Daniel Craig and some of her corgis. She is also known for her wit, which she uses to put nervous guests at ease.

THE INVICTUS GAMES: A PARALYMPIC-STYLE COMPETITION FOR INJURED, SICK AND WOUNDED PERSONNEL

The Invictus Games are a multi-sport event for injured, sick or wounded military personnel and veterans. Prince Harry has been the driving force behind the Games, which were first staged in 2014 in London to great acclaim. He is patron of the games, an event he is especially passionate about given that some of the soldiers he fought alongside in Afghanistan had been injured. He believes the games can help rehabilitate wounded service personnel as well as showing them their country appreciates their sacrifice.  The ethos of Invictus is to highlight the incredible effect sport has to inspire and help the recovery of servicemen and women who have been injured whilst serving their country. This year, the competition is being staged in Orlando, Florida. It will start on May 8. Prince Harry will travel to the U.S. next week to support the UK team in the Paralympics-style competition. He previously said he was ‘absolutely delighted’ the United States had decided to host the Games. More than 500 competitors from countries including Italy, Germany, Estonia, Jordan and the UK compete in 10 events – archery, indoor rowing, powerlifting, road cycling, sitting volleyball, swimming, athletics, wheelchair basketball, rugby and tennis.

Princes Harry and William met the cast and crew of Star Wars 8 as they were shown around the super secretive set. William, who has just returned from a tour of India and Bhutan, and his brother were guided by The Force Awakens star Daisy Ridley, who plays heroine Rey.

During the tour they chatted to crew, played with lightsabers and Harry met a new best friend in the form of a giant, hairy creature. He broke royal protocol by hugging the huge beast – played by Joonas Suotamo – before his brother had a cuddle too. Mark Hamill, who plays Luke Skywalker, and John Boyega, who plays Finn, were also on set with director Rian Johnson on hand to answer any questions.

Prince William admitted he was a “total geek” over the franchise, and he challenged his brother to a duel with lightsabers. They also checked out props such as animatronic heads and robot BB8 before posing for a group photo to mark the occasion.

Kensington Palace thanked the Star Wars cast and crew for playing host to the Princes.

They got together for a group picture to celebrate the end of the tour, which the palace said was aimed at recognising the wealth of British creative talent involved in the production of the Star Wars films.

Prince Harry ismét szingli https://www.5percangol.hu/news_of_the_world/prince-harry-ismet-szingli/ Wed, 30 Apr 2014 08:43:38 +0000 https://cmsteszt.5percangol.hu/prince-harry-ismet-szingli/ Prince Harry and girlfriend Cressida Bonas ‘split’

Prince Harry has split from his girlfriend Cressida Bonas, a source close to the couple has said. The royal, 29, had been dating the 25-year-old for two years, with speculation growing in recent months that the pair would marry. ‘It’s very, very sad that they have decided to split. It’s very amicable but they have decided to go their separate ways,’ the source said.

It is believed the couple may have split to enable Cressida to focus on her career, while she is also thought to have been uncomfortable with the attention resulting from dating a member of the royal family. The source said the pair were still ‘the best of friends’. Prince Harry’s cousin and Cressida’s friend Princess Eugenia introduced the pair, who started dating in May 2012. They made their first official public appearance together earlier this year.

Kensington Palace declined to comment.

Menj fiam borbélyhoz! – a Királynő levágatta Harry szakállát : ) https://www.5percangol.hu/news_of_the_world/menj-fiam-borbelyhoz-a-kiralyn-levagatta-harry-szakallat/ Wed, 08 Jan 2014 09:14:12 +0000 https://cmsteszt.5percangol.hu/menj-fiam-borbelyhoz-a-kiralyn-levagatta-harry-szakallat/ Queen ‘orders Prince Harry to shave off his beard because she intensely dislikes facial hair’

Harry grew the full face of hair while on his Walking With The Wounded charity trek to the South Pole last month and has avoided razors since.

The Queen has ordered Prince Harry to shave off his beard because she "intensely dislikes" facial hair, according to reports. Her grandson grew theimpressive mane last month while on his Walking With The Wounded trek to the South Pole. A Royal insider told the Daily Express: “The rest of the family liked it and were taking the mickey, especially his cousin Zara who dubbed him ‘Prince Hairy’."

According to the paper, servants are asked to keep clean shaven and the Queen therefore wants Harry to set an example. He returned in time for Christmas at Sandringham and reportedly wanted to keep his whiskers until girlfriend Cressida Bonas could see them. The insider said: “The Queen soon let her displeasure be known. She doesn’t mind royal men growing beards when they are away in the Armed Forces or out in the wilds like Harry was in the Antarctic, but she expects them to be clean-shaven when they get home."

And added: “Harry doesn’t like to upset the Queen and will probably shave it off soon but he is still a bit of a rebel and he wasn’t going to remove it straight away."

Cressida, 24, celebrated New Year’s Eve away from Harry on Sir Richard Branson’s private Necker Island for an exclusive bash.

Prince Harry wax figure has an icy makeover, Madame Tussauds

Madame Tussauds has paid tribute to Prince Harry’s participation in a charity trek to the South Pole by giving his wax figure an icy make-over. Visitors will get a preview of what the ‘action man’ Prince will look like kitted out to combat the sub-zero temperatures he and fellow expedition members will encounter on the 208 mile (335 km) Walking with the Wounded South Pole Allied Challenge, which kicks off on Sunday.

The wardrobe team at the London attraction will dress Prince Harry, who is the expedition’s patron, in exactly the same gear the team will wear on their trek donated by Helly Hansen. Madame Tussauds artists will use special colouring effects to ‘ice’ his eyelashes and hairline – mirroring how he will look in the face of -50C temperatures, snowstorms and glaciers over the four week challenge.

Guests will be invited to make donations to help kick-start the fundraising campaign, which aims to generate £2 million for the re-training of wounded ex-servicemen and women.

Prince Harry promises fun for new nephew https://www.5percangol.hu/news_of_the_world/prince-harry-promises-fun-for-new-nephew/ Thu, 01 Aug 2013 06:43:28 +0000 https://cmsteszt.5percangol.hu/prince-harry-promises-fun-for-new-nephew/

Prince Harry takes on role of doting uncle, saying “I only hope my brother knows how expensive my baby sitting charges are”. Prince Harry has declared he is ready to play the proud, protective uncle for his new nephew George and"make sure he has fun".

Harry could not stop beaming as he talked about the newest member of his family during his visit to a photographic exhibition in London on Thursday night documenting the work of his Africa-based charity Sentebale. Asked what he would do as an uncle, he said: "To make sure he has a good upbringing, and keep him out of harm’s way and to make sure he has fun. The rest I’ll leave to the parents."

Harry said he had already cuddled the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s baby, who was born on Monday and named on Wednesday as George Alexander Louis – Prince George of Cambridge. The baby is destined to become George VII if his grandfather, Prince Charles, and father William choose to use their first names when they become monarchs, and not a middle name.

George’s name is thought to be in tribute to the Queen’s father, King George VI. Harry said: "When I saw him he was crying his eyes out like all babies do I suppose – it’s fantastic to have another addition to the family. I only hope my brother knows how expensive my babysitting charges are."

When asked what his nephew was like, Harry held up his hands and said: "Well he’s about that long and about that wide." He added: "He is about four days old so I think you can judge that one for yourself. I’ve no idea."

And when he was asked whether William was up to the job of fatherhood, he replied: "Of course he is. Hopefully most people are."

The prince had spent around half an hour viewing the exhibition Sentebale – Stories of Hope at the Getty Images Gallery in central London. Some of the pictures were taken in February during the royal’s trip to the southern African kingdom of Lesotho, where his charity supports a range of projects that help disadvantaged children and young people.

Sentebale, which means Forget Me Not in the local language, was founded in 2006 by Prince Harry and Prince Seeiso of Lesotho, and has improved the lives of thousands of children by providing healthcare and education to those most in need, including children orphaned by the country’s HIV/Aids epidemic.
