Előfordulhat, hogy szeretnél külföldön egy ismerőst meglátogatni a kórházban. Ehhez hoztam most egy hasznos-hangos párbeszédet.
Woman: I’ve just heard that you’re in hospital. How are you? What’s the problem with you?
Man: Thank you for coming to see me. I’m not feeling very well. I don’t know what the problem can be and neither do the doctors. Not yet, anyway.
Woman: Oh, I’m so sorry to hear that. What are your symptoms?
Man: I’ve had a constant headache and stomach problems for quite a while, I’m always tired and I have no energy to do the everyday things. It’s become very annoying. That’s why I decided to see my GP at last. You know how I hate going to see the doctor.
Woman: Of course, I know. What did he say?
Man: He examined me, sent me to all sorts of tests, but he couldn’t seem to find anything wrong. That’s why I’m here.
Woman: Oh, dear. It’s not good news. How long have you been here?
Man: Since Monday. Only two days, but it seems like forever. I hate lying in bed, and the doctors’ tests aren’t very pleasant. Blood tests, X-rays, ultrasonography, you know how it goes.
Woman: It sounds to me that you get great care here.
Man: Well, yes, I can’t deny it. The doctors and the nurses are conscientious and caring, but I’d rather work than do nothing in bed for days.
Woman: How do you spend the time?
Man: I read a lot, and I watch films on my computer. I try to sleep whenever I can but it’s not easy with my stomach ache.
Woman: What can I do for you?
Man: I’d appreciate if you brought me some fruit when you come again next time. Hospital food isn’t the best and I’m craving for fruit all the time.
Woman: All right. I’ll be back tomorrow. Get better soon.
