Man: Hi Diana, how are you?
Woman: I’m fine. Good to see you again, Harry. How’s France?
Man: I’m having the time of my life.
Woman: I bet. Drinking French wine all the time…
Man: I also happen to enjoy the fact that people aren’t so stressed about work in general.
Woman: I wish I could get away from the office, it’s getting worse and worse.
Man: Why don’t you ask for a transfer to the Boulogne branch?
Woman: My French isn’t good enough.
Man: Mine wasn’t that great either but I took an immersion course.
Woman: Did it really help? Did you stay with a French family, like high school kids?
Man: Same idea. I also had lessons every day with my own tutor.
Woman: Wow. It must have been hard.
Man: It got much better after the first week. And they found me a tutor who helped with work-related vocabulary.
Woman: That sounds fab! I’d like to find out more about this immersion programme.
Man: I’ll email you the details. But you honestly don’t have to speak much French over there.
Woman: Why?
Man: Because everybody in the office wants to practise their English!
