Bomb squad false alarm after ‘suspicious package’ turns out to be a burrito
The taste of a delicious burrito may explode in your mouth, but a crack team of disposal experts were called into action when one made an unexpected impact at a police station. Officers in Oklahoma City called for bomb squad assistance when a concerned member of the public walked into their station with a suspicious package.
The man discovered a Thermos-type container, which had tinfoil protruding from the lid, on his lawn and decided taking it to his local police station was his best option. Officers told the man to leave the container outside before a police bomb squad X-rayed the item and discovered it was just a burrito.
An unamused police captain, Dexter Nelson, said anyone who finds a suspicious object should call authorities instead of carrying it to them. ‘If you think it might or could be dangerous, you should not touch or move it,’ he said. ‘Call the authorities and we will investigate it there.’
