THE HOUSE IS ON FIRE
City Rowhouse Fire Leaves 2 Firefighters InjuredMaryland – Two firefighters were injured this morning while fighting a fire in a two-story vacant rowhouse in West Baltimore, a city Fire Department spokesman said. The fire was first reported around 3:20 a.m. in the 1900 block of Lauretta Ave., near Franklin and Monroe streets, and was quickly extinguished. Chief Kevin Cartwright, the spokesman, said one firefighter who was inside suffered second-degree burns to both legs and was taken to Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, where he is expected to remain through today. Cartwright said a second firefighter suffered second-degree burns to his forearm. He was treated and released from Bayview. Cartwright said the cause of the fire is under investigation.
