a) Jöhet utána közvetlenül az alany, akire vonatkozik a mondat, ebben az esetben a jelen időt (a kötőmód – subjunctive miatt) egyszerű múlt idővel (Past Simple) fejezzük ki.Ebben az esetben azt is sugallja a mondat, hogy, bár itt az ideje valaminek, valószínűleg már késő bármit is tenni.Például:
