Lopez 'delighted' at twins birth

Jennifer Lopez has given birth to twins in the early hours of this morning, according to US reports.

The 38-year-old delivered a boy and girl, her first children with Latino singer husband Marc Anthony.

It had been rumoured the star would deliver by Caesarean section but there is no confirmation yet on the details of the delivery at a Long Island Hospital in New York.

Lopez’s spokesman Simon Fields told People magazine the babies were born at 12:45 a.m.

"Jennifer and Marc are delighted, thrilled and over the moon," Fields said.

The birth ends a media circus surrounding her pregnancy after the star repeatedly denied her pregnancy whilst on tour, until Anthony spilt the beans at a concert in Miami in November.

Much speculation has focused on the value of the singer’s first magazine deal to show off her two babes, with bids reportedly reaching as high as £3 million for a first glance.

Hospital staff have also reportedly described the diva demandS of the singer, kitting out a special room for her at the hospital two weeks before her arrival. The suite is reportedly furnished with privacy screens, a leather couch, wooden floors and two giant plasma TVs.

Lopez and her husband have been busying themselves preparing three luxury nurseries for the babies across their US homes.
