700,000 eurót mosott partra a tenger egy szicíliai strandon

Hihetetlen mégis igaz (ráadásul nagyjából innen 5 kilométerre lakunk) … de aznap pont nem, és pont nem ott mentünk strandra… Too bad. Olvassátok el, hogy mi történ ennek a kis szicíliai falunak a tengerpartján.

Bags of Cash Wash Up on a Sicilian Beach

On a hot day in July 2026, people relaxing on a beach in Casuzze, a small seaside village in Sicily, saw something strange. Shopping bags were floating in the water near the shore. When the waves pushed them onto the sand, curious tourists opened them, and found piles of banknotes inside. In total, the bags contained almost €700,000.

The money had come from a small speedboat that was travelling from Malta to Sicily. The boat had four people on board, including a 13-year-old child. During the trip, the boat ran out of fuel and began to drift. Two passengers went ashore to look for petrol, but the boat kept moving slowly towards the coast.

Some beachgoers noticed the drifting boat and, worried that it might sink, called the coast guard. But when a coast guard boat came closer to help, the people still on board panicked. Instead of waiting for rescue, they started throwing bag after bag of cash into the sea. Minutes later, the packages were floating on the surface, and the current carried them straight to the beach, right in front of dozens of surprised holidaymakers.

The police later stopped and questioned everyone connected to the boat. Nobody has been charged yet, but investigators are trying to understand why so much cash was on a small boat travelling between Malta and Sicily. Some think it could be linked to money laundering, drug payments, or even fake banknotes. The area is already known to police as a route sometimes used for smuggling. For now, the mystery of the money is still unsolved, but the video of tourists happily collecting soggy euro notes on the beach has already gone around the world.
