Lord of the Rings fan has surgery on ears so they’re POINTY like an elf A woman who is obsessed with all things mythical has had her ears cut and shaped to look like an elf. Ethereal beauty, Melynda Moon, paid £250 to get pointed ears to resemble the fanciful creatures from her favourite film, The Lord of the Rings. The human elf, from Guelph in Ontario, Canada has always felt like she comes from a different realm and believes she was a fairy in her past life. The 23-year-old said: “I have always been very close to nature. Pointed ears are the most adorable thing, and I find the elven attire is so elegant. My inspiration comes from The Lord of the Rings, the long hair, dresses and the closeness to nature. When I found out I could have my ears pointed I have never been so sure of something in my entire life.” Ms Moon had the tops of her ear cartilage skinned and a small triangle piece cut out from the tip to form the point that was pinched and stitched together.
