Vajon honnan ered az első kifejezés? Az alábbiakat elolvasva meg tudhatod:
Have you ever wondered where the phrase “go with your gut” comes from?
The expression became common in the 20th century, but the idea behind it is much older. Ancient cultures believed the gut was the seat of intuition, emotion, and inner wisdom—where we instinctively “knew” things before we could explain them.
Modern science has uncovered something fascinating: your digestive system contains millions of neurons in what’s known as the enteric nervous system, often called the “second brain.” It constantly communicates with your brain through the vagus nerve and even produces many of the neurotransmitters that influence mood and well-being.
So while your gut can’t literally think, that “gut feeling” you experience is a real conversation between your brain and your body. Sometimes your intuition is your mind recognizing patterns before your conscious thoughts have caught up.
Maybe that’s why, every now and then, it’s worth listening to your gut.
