A halrudacskákat mindenki szereti, még a finnyás gyerekek is. Most hoztam nektek egy egészségesebb, házi változatot - természetesen angolul!  Hasonló, gyerekbarát recepteket, a 2019 augusztusi számunkban találtok!  

Mock Fish Fingers with Polenta Chips

serves: 4
preparation time: 20 min
standing time: 30 min
baking time: 15-20 min

Ingredients:

– 500 g fresh or frozen fish fillets
– salt and freshly ground black pepper
– 150 ml flour
– 2 eggs, whisked
– 500 ml Corn Flakes, very finely crushed
– 1 litre water
– 5 ml salt
– 250 ml polenta
– oil for frying
coarse salt to garnish

Preparation:

1. Put a piece of wax paper on a flat platter. Cut the fish fillets into 2×10 cm pieces and season with salt and pepper.

2. Dip the fish in the flour, then the egg and in the Corn Flake crumbs. Arrange the pieces on the platter and chill for about 30 minutes.

3. Put the water and salt in a saucepan, bring to the boil and sprinkle the polenta into it. Stir until thick. Reduce the heat and simmer for 10 minutes or until done.

4. Line a roasting pan with baking paper and grease with non-stick spray. Spoon the polenta into the pan, spreading it evenly with a wooden spoon, and leave until cold and set.

5. Turn the polenta onto a wooden board and cut into thin strips. Heat oil in a large frying pan and fry the polenta strips until crisp. Set aside.

6. Heat a little more oil and fry the fish fingers until golden brown and done. Garnish the fish fingers with coarse salt and serve with the polenta chips, tomato sauce, mayonnaise, a salad and beetroot chips.
